Community Posts

This guide covers creating and managing community posts in depth: the New post dialog, attachments, scheduling, tier audience, categories, drafts, and editing after publish.

For the full Community tab layout, filters, and member experience, see Community overview.

Categories (optional)Add under Settings → General → Post categories if you want topic labels and feed filters

Desktop for composing

Use a wide window on a computer. You can still read posts and use comments and reactions on a phone; writing and editing posts with media needs desktop width.

Create a new post (Community tab)

  1. Open the composer

On Community, click Share something with your members… (paperclip, video, and image icons on the right).

  2. New post dialog

Flo opens New post with your avatar and Your name posting in [program name] at the top.

  3. Write title and body

Add a Title (optional — blank saves as Untitled) and text in Write something….

  4. Add media (optional)

Use the toolbar under the body for files, links, or video — see Attachments below.

  5. Set audience, category, and timing

Use the three icon controls next to the attachment buttons — Who can see this, Category, and When to publish.

  6. Publish

Choose Post (goes live now) or Schedule post (goes live at Publish at). See Notify members if you want a new-post email.

After Post, Flo shows Post published, adds the post to your feed, and opens the post detail view so you can read comments or make quick edits.

After Schedule post, Flo confirms with the date and time you picked (for example Post scheduled for May 20, 2026 9:00 AM).

Press Escape or Cancel to close the dialog without publishing (nothing is saved to your feed).

Title and body

FieldDetail
TitleLarge headline at the top. Leave empty and Flo saves Untitled.
BodyMain text area with placeholder Write something…

You can paste a web address into the body. When members read the post, those links open in a new tab.

The body editor does not include bold, italics, bullet lists, or headings — keep formatting simple. Use attachments for files, link cards, and video embeds.

Attachments

Below the body, a toolbar adds content outside the main text. Uploaded and linked items appear in a strip under the body; remove any item with the trash icon on its thumbnail.

Before publishOnly you see it in the hub feed with a Scheduled label and Goes live [date and time]

You can change a scheduled post before it goes live — Edit a post below.

Who can see this (tier audience)

Open the audience control (people icon). Popover title Who can see this.

What members on other tiers see

If you pick a specific tier, members not on that tier still see a locked card in the portal: title snippet, lock icon, and which tier is required. They may see an Upgrade path if you offer a higher tier.

Match tier-only posts to what you promised in Member benefits.

Categories

Open the category control (tag icon). Popover Category.

If you have no categories yet, the picker says to add them under Membership settingsHub → Settings → General → Post categories. See Community overview — Post categories.

Notify members by email

When Post now is selected, a Notify members checkbox appears at the bottom of the dialog (checked on by default).

SettingWho gets a new-post email when the post first goes live
Notify members on + All members audienceActive members who have not turned off new-post emails for this program
Notify members on + Tier-only audienceActive members on that tier only (same opt-out rules)
Notify members offNo new-post email for that publish

Scheduled posts and email

The Notify members checkbox only shows when Post now is selected. If you switch to Schedule, the checkbox hides but keeps whatever you last set under Post now (default on).

You wantDo this
Email when the scheduled post goes liveLeave default on, or ensure Notify members was on before you switched to Schedule
No email for a scheduled postSelect Post now, uncheck Notify members, then switch back to Schedule

Emails send when the post actually publishes — immediately for Post, or at the scheduled time when Flo auto-publishes.

Fans can opt out of new-post emails in their membership notification preferences.

The New post dialog on Community always publishes or schedules in one step — it does not have a Save draft button.

Start a draft (Membership Studio)

To work on a post over time without publishing from the Community composer:

  1. Open Studio

Dashboard → Memberships → your program → Edit tiers (Membership Studio).

  2. Content tab

Click Content in the studio tabs.

  3. New post

Click New post. Flo creates a Draft and opens the Membership Hub on that post.

  4. Edit and save

In the post detail view, open the menu → Edit. Finish the post, set Status to Draft, and click Save draft.

From Studio you can also open any existing post with Edit on the list — same hub post view.

Drafts appear in your hub feed with a Draft label so you can find them later.

Open and read a post

Click a feed cardOpens post detail — full title, body, attachments, reactions, and comments
Click comment on a cardOpens the post with the comment field focused

The top of the detail view shows author · time · audience · Pinned · Draft · Scheduled as applicable.

Edit a post

  1. Open the post

Click the post in your Community feed (or follow a Studio Edit link).

  2. Start editing

(top right) → Edit. Not available on small screens — use desktop width.

  3. Change content

Update title, body, attachments, Hero image, Who can see this, Category, and Status — see below.

  4. Save

Use the bottom button: Save draft, Schedule post, Save (already published), or Publish Now depending on status.

Cancel in the editor returns to view mode without saving.

Title required when editing

If you clear the title in Edit, Flo shows Title is required. before saving. New posts from the Community composer can still save as Untitled.

Hero image (edit only)

While editing, scroll to Hero image — upload or replace a wide (16:9) banner shown at the top of the post for members. This option is not in the first-time New post dialog; add it when editing.

Status when editing

Section label Status — three choices:

DraftSave draftStays (or becomes) a draft — members do not see it
ScheduleSchedule postNeeds Publish at in the future; toast Post scheduled for [date].
Publish NowClick Publish Now, or set status to published and SaveGoes live; toast Post published.

When status is Draft, a switch Notify members on publish controls whether fans get email the first time the post goes live.

If members were already emailed, you may see: Members were notified when this post was published.

Change a live post without re-sending email

Edit the post, make changes, and click Save while status stays Published. Updating copy or attachments does not send another round of new-post emails.
