Portal Visibility
Portal visibility controls which library sections fans see in the signed-in portal. In Fan Hub, the Sections card has three switches: Courses, Products, and Bookings. Each switch adds or removes that area from the sidebar and from Home — it does not delete purchases, enrollments, or bookings from Flo.
Use this when you want a simpler portal (for example members-only) or when you do not sell one of those offer types.

Open the Sections controls
Go to Fan Hub
Dashboard sidebar → Portal → Fan Hub.
Find Sections
Scroll to the Sections card (below Welcome content). The card description is Choose which sections appear in your fans' portal navigation.
Toggle and preview
Flip Courses, Products, or Bookings on or off. The Live preview sidebar updates right away so you can see which nav items remain.
Save
Click Save changes → toast Portal settings saved. Fans see updates after you save (they may need to refresh).
Visibility saves together with Identity, Colors, and Welcome content — one Save changes button for the whole Fan Hub form.
The three switches
All three default to on for new portals.
| Switch | Fan Hub hint | When on | When off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Courses | Show the courses area in the portal. | My Courses in the sidebar and a My Courses card on Home | No courses nav or Home card |
| Products | Show the products storefront in the portal. | My Products in the sidebar and a My Products card on Home | No products nav or Home card |
| Bookings | Show booking offers in the portal. | My Bookings in the sidebar and a My Bookings card on Home | No bookings nav or Home card |
Sidebar labels fans see: My Courses, My Products, My Bookings.
What visibility changes
Sidebar navigation
Flo builds the menu from your switches (plus items that are always there).
| Nav item | Controlled by Sections? |
|---|---|
| Home | No — always shown |
| My Courses | Yes — Courses switch |
| My Products | Yes — Products switch |
| My Bookings | Yes — Bookings switch |
| My Membership | No — appears only when the fan is a member of your program (active membership) |
| Subscriptions | No — always shown (page may be empty if they have no subscriptions) |
| Privacy & data | No — always shown (below a divider) |
| Visit [portal name] | No — footer link to your public Flo page |
Typical order: Home → optional library items → My Membership (if member) → Subscriptions → divider → Privacy & data.
Portal Home cards
On https://myflo.link/{your-username}/portal, each on switch adds a tappable card under your welcome line.
| Card | Shown when | Count on the card |
|---|---|---|
| My Courses | Courses on | Number of course enrollments (including access from membership perks) |
| My Products | Products on | Number of purchases |
| My Bookings | Bookings on | Number of upcoming confirmed sessions (not past sessions) |
| My Membership | Fan is a member | No count — subtitle Posts, chat, billing, and benefits |
When a fan has zero items in a section, the card still appears (if the switch is on) with a short prompt:
| Section | Empty prompt on Home |
|---|---|
| My Courses | Explore courses → |
| My Products | Browse products → |
| My Bookings | Book a session → |
The line under the welcome headline is always Here's everything in your library. — it does not change when you turn sections off.
What visibility does not change
Hiding a section is not a paywall
Turning Courses off does not revoke course access. Fans who already enrolled can still open their course from email links, your public page, or by visiting the library URL directly (see below).
| Still works when the switch is off | Detail |
|---|---|
| Direct library URLs | Pages like .../portal/courses, .../portal/products, and .../portal/bookings still load if the fan knows the link or has it bookmarked — Flo only hides navigation, not access |
| Course player | Learn links such as https://myflo.link/{username}/courses/{course-slug}/learn are separate from portal nav |
| Purchase emails | Receipt and delivery links still work |
| Membership | My Membership is unrelated to these three switches — manage the program in Membership Hub |
| Sign-in page copy | The login panel still says Sign in to access your courses, purchases, and bookings even if you hid some sections |
Hiding a section mainly reduces clutter and stops empty library areas from appearing in the menu. It is not a security control for paid content.
Recommended setups
| Your business | Suggested switches |
|---|---|
| Membership only (no standalone courses/products/bookings in the portal) | Courses off · Products off · Bookings off — members use My Membership; others see Home, Subscriptions, and Privacy & data |
| Courses + digital products | Courses on · Products on · Bookings off |
| Coaching / sessions | Bookings on · turn off Courses or Products if you do not use them |
| Full library | All on (default) |
Publish offers first
Switches only control where fans browse. You still need live courses, products, booking offers, or a membership program for fans to have something to open. Empty library pages show messages like No courses yet or No purchases yet inside the section itself.
Inside each library section (when fans open it)
If a section is on in the nav (or the fan opens the URL directly), they see a dedicated page:
| Page | Title | Empty state (no items yet) |
|---|---|---|
| My Courses | My Courses · subtitle No enrollments yet | No courses yet — Courses you enroll in will appear here. |
| My Products | My Products · subtitle No purchases yet | No purchases yet — Products you purchase will appear here. |
| My Bookings | My Bookings · subtitle No upcoming sessions | No bookings yet — Sessions you book will appear here. (includes a link to your public page to book) |
See Fan library for how enrollments, downloads, and session management work on those pages.
Live preview and testing
| Live preview | Preview portal | |
|---|---|---|
| Sections | Sidebar sample adds/removes My Courses, My Products, My Bookings as you toggle | Full portal after save |
| My Membership | Not shown in the mini preview | Shown when you preview as a creator with a membership program |
| Counts on Home | Not real numbers | Zero counts in creator preview mode |
After saving, test like a fan: sign in at https://myflo.link/{your-username}/login and confirm the sidebar matches what you intended. See Portal preview.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Fans still see a section you turned off | Click Save changes; ask them to refresh; confirm they are on your portal URL |
| Fan says they “lost” a course | Section may be hidden from nav — send their learn or enrollment link, or turn Courses back on |
| My Membership missing | Not a Sections switch — fan must join your program (Create a tier) |
| All three off and Home looks empty | Expected for non-members — only welcome text and always-on items (Subscriptions, Privacy & data) remain |
| Toggle on but card shows Explore… with 0 count | Fan has not enrolled or purchased yet — normal empty state |
| Bookings count is 0 but they had sessions | Home count is upcoming sessions only; past sessions appear on My Bookings page under past section |
| Login page mentions courses but nav does not | Login copy is fixed; only portal nav/Home respect your switches |
