Broadcast Limits

Flo applies several kinds of limits to broadcasts. Some come from your Flo plan (how many campaigns you can send, how big your list can grow). Others protect deliverability (how fast mail goes out, when sending pauses).

Creator plan required

This page is the full reference. For who receives mail, see Broadcast audience. For score, throttling, and suspension, see Sender reputation.

Subscriber and AI numbers also appear on Settings → Billing & plans under usage. Flo does not show a separate “broadcasts used this month” meter there — track sends on Dashboard → Broadcasts (count rows with status Sent this month).

Access by plan

Free

Dashboard → Broadcasts shows an upgrade prompt. You cannot create or send campaigns until you are on Creator or above.

Error if a send were attempted without access:

Email broadcasts are available on the Creator plan and above.

Creator, Pro, and Studio

You can open the broadcasts list, compose, schedule, and send (subject to the limits below).

Monthly broadcast quota (Creator)

Creator includes up to 5 completed broadcasts per calendar month. Pro and Studio have no monthly send cap.

What counts as one send

Counts toward the 5Does not count
A campaign that finished with status Sent this monthDraft — saved but never sent
Each separate Sent row (five different campaigns = five uses)Scheduled — waiting for its send time
Sending — still delivering
Failed — send did not complete

Flo counts using the Sent status and the send timestamp, from the first day of the current calendar month through today.

When you hit the cap

If you already have 5 Sent broadcasts this month, the next Send now is blocked. Flo shows:

The Creator plan includes up to 5 broadcasts per month. Upgrade to unlock more.

Upgrade to Pro or Studio for unlimited monthly sends, or wait until the new month starts.

Scheduling and the monthly cap

You can schedule a sixth campaign on Creator, but when its time arrives, Flo checks the quota again. If you are still at 5 Sent for the month, that scheduled send is skipped (it stays Scheduled until you upgrade, the month resets, or you delete it).

Tip: Before stacking many scheduled sends on Creator, count how many you have already Sent this month.

Pro and Studio

No monthly broadcast cap. Other limits (list size, speed, reputation) still apply.

Subscriber list size (audience cap)

Your plan limits how many subscribed contacts can be on your list. That caps how large All subscribers broadcasts can be — not how many campaigns you send.

PlanMax subscribed contacts
Free250
Creator2,500
Pro / StudioUnlimited

Only subscribed fans count (pending and unsubscribed do not). When you are at the cap, new confirmations stop adding subscribers (the signup form may still look successful to fans).

Details: Subscribers overview · Email capture.

Membership limits (Members only audience)

Members only broadcasts go to active fans in a membership you pick. Your plan limits how many memberships you can run:

PlanMemberships
Free0Members only is unavailable
Creator1
Pro / StudioUnlimited

You still need Creator+ to send any broadcast. See Broadcast audience.

AI assist limits in compose

AI tools in the broadcast editor share your plan’s monthly AI generation pool (shown on Settings → Billing & plans).

AI subject line suggestionsYesYes
AI body draft from a briefNo — upgrade to ProYes
PlanAI generations per month (all types combined)
Free5 (not usable for broadcasts without Creator)
Creator25
Pro100
Studio300

When you use up AI credits for the month, wait for the reset or upgrade. The broadcast editor is manual today; AI may be added to compose in a future update.

Send speed and volume (all plans)

Even with unlimited monthly sends on Pro, Flo may slow down or pause delivery to protect inboxes.

New sender warm-up

For accounts that have sent few lifetime broadcasts, Flo caps how many emails go out per hour:

Lifetime broadcasts you have completedRough hourly cap
0 (first campaigns)200 / hour
1–3500 / hour
4–102,000 / hour
More than 10Based on Sender reputation (below)

Large lists may stay on Sending for a while while waves finish.

Low sender reputation

If your Sender Reputation score or complaint/bounce rates are poor, Flo lowers hourly caps (for example about 10,000, 1,000, or 100 per hour). You may see:

This broadcast (N recipients) exceeds your hourly send limit (X remaining in the current hour). Wait for the limit to reset or send a smaller audience.

The composer cannot split All subscribers into a partial list — wait for the hourly window to refresh or improve list quality first.

Platform sending capacity

During platform-wide growth periods, Flo may limit total sends per day across all creators. If you hit that ceiling, you might see a message that today’s allowance is used up. Try again later or the next day.

Suspended sending

If your account is suspended for deliverability, hourly limit is zero — no new broadcasts start until support@myflo.link reinstates you after review.

Full thresholds: Sender reputation · Broadcast deliverability.

Other gates (not monthly quotas)
