Scheduling Broadcasts

You can deliver a broadcast immediately or schedule it for a later date and time. Scheduling saves the campaign as Scheduled on Dashboard → Broadcasts; Flo sends it automatically when that time arrives (usually within a few minutes).

Creator plan required

Broadcasts require Creator or above. Free cannot schedule or send.

Send now vs Schedule

In the composer’s right column, under When:

ModeButtonWhat happens
Send nowSend to N (header: Send (N))Saves, then asks Send this broadcast? — mail queues right after you confirm
ScheduleSchedule for N (header: Schedule (N))Saves as Scheduled — no send confirmation dialog

Both modes use the same editor. Only the final click differs.

Full compose walkthrough: Compose a broadcast.

Schedule a broadcast — step by step

  1. Open the composer

Dashboard → Broadcasts → New broadcast, or edit an existing Draft.

  2. Write the campaign

Subject, preview text, blocks, and Audience — same as a normal send.

  3. Choose Schedule

In the preview column, When → Schedule. The first time you pick Schedule, Flo pre-fills tomorrow at 09:00 in your local timezone (your computer or browser clock).

  4. Set date and time

Use the date and time fields below the toggle. The time must be at least a few seconds in the future when you save.

  5. Click Schedule for N

Flo saves the campaign. Toast: Broadcast scheduled. It will send automatically at the time you picked (within a few minutes).

  6. Confirm on the list

Broadcasts shows status Scheduled and a Sends [date] column (for example Sends Mar 15, 2026).

Subtext under the button still says broadcasts go out within about 60 seconds once delivery starts — large lists may stay on Sending for hours while Flo delivers in waves.

Timezone

Flo stores your chosen date and time using your local timezone at save time (the same zone your browser uses for those inputs).

ExampleMeaning
You pick 9:00 AM in New YorkFlo targets that instant for your account, converted for delivery
You travel and edit laterRe-save from the device you use — the picker reflects that device’s local zone

There is no separate “campaign timezone” setting in the composer today.

What Flo checks when you schedule (save time)

Send / Schedule stay disabled until:

RequirementWhere to fix
Subject lineComposer
At least one recipientAudienceBroadcast audience
Business address savedSettings → Email sendingEmail footerPhysical address
Date and time filled inWhen → Schedule

Physical address

Some banners still say Settings → Profile. The live field is Settings → Email sendingBusiness address.

Scheduling does not run the full “inbox safety” checks (spammy subject rules, etc.) and does not show the Email Sending Agreement yet. Those run when the campaign actually sends.

What Flo checks when the scheduled time arrives

Flo looks for due Scheduled campaigns every five minutes. When yours is due, Flo runs the same checks as Send now, including:

CheckIf it fails
Creator monthly cap (5 Sent / month on Creator)Send is skipped — row stays ScheduledBroadcast limits
Business addressRow moves back to Draft (schedule cleared)
Empty audience (no subscribers or no active members)Back to Draft
Email Sending Agreement (first send only)Back to Draft — accept policy, then send manually
Email sending suspendedBack to DraftSender reputation
Subject / content pre-send rulesBack to Draft — fix in composer
Hourly send limit or platform daily capBack to DraftBroadcast deliverability
Verified sending setup (domain / From identity)Back to Draft if sending is not ready

So a campaign can sit Scheduled on the list but become Draft after the clock passes if something was missing at send time. Open the row and read the composer warnings before trying again.

Monthly quota and scheduled sends (Creator)

WhenWhat counts
While scheduledDoes not use your 5 monthly Sent slots
When it actually sendsCounts as one Sent if delivery completes

You may schedule a sixth campaign on Creator, but if you already have 5 Sent this month when its time arrives, Flo skips that send and leaves it Scheduled. Upgrade to Pro / Studio, wait for the new month, or delete the campaign.

After the scheduled send starts

StatusWhat it means
SendingFlo is delivering (often in batches for large lists)
SentFinished — open View report
FailedSend stopped — edit, fix the issue, try again

While Sending, you cannot edit the campaign. View report shows live progress (recipients, delivered, opens, clicks, unsubscribes).

Find scheduled campaigns

On Dashboard → Broadcasts:

ToolUse
Scheduled filter pillShows only Scheduled rows
Sent / Scheduled columnSends [date] for upcoming sends
Header subtitleIncludes a scheduled count when you have campaigns

Click a Scheduled row (or Edit in the ⋯ menu) to open the composer.

Edit a scheduled broadcast

You can edit Draft, Scheduled, and Failed campaigns. Sent and Sending cannot be edited.

ChangeHow
Subject, body, preview, audienceEdit in the composer — autosave keeps updating the scheduled row
Send date or timeStay on Schedule, change date / time, click Schedule for N again (or wait for Saved)
Save without changing timeSave draft in the header

Reopening a Scheduled campaign loads When → Schedule with the saved date and time.

Cancel a scheduled send

There is no separate Cancel schedule button. Use one of these:

GoalSteps
Remove the campaign⋯ menu → Delete (or bulk-select → Delete drafts)
Keep content, stop the timerOpen the composer → When → Send nowSave draft — status becomes Draft and the schedule is cleared
Send immediately insteadWhen → Send now → fix any warnings → Send to N → confirm Send now

Deleting or demoting to Draft does not send mail.

Send before the scheduled time

To deliver early:

  1. Open the Scheduled campaign.
  2. Switch When to Send now.
  3. Click Send to N and confirm (same flow as an immediate send).

Flo does not send early while Schedule is still selected — you must switch modes and confirm.

Duplicate a scheduled campaign

⋯ → Duplicate copies subject (with (copy) if needed), body, and audience into a new Draft with no schedule. The original Scheduled row is unchanged.

Send now (immediate) — quick reference

  1. When → Send now

Default mode in the preview column.

  2. Fix blockers

Resolve Issues that block sending under the button if shown.

  3. Send to N

Saves, then Send this broadcast?Send now.

  4. First-time policy

If shown, accept Email Sending Agreement, then sending continues.

  5. List

Status Sending, then SentView report for stats.

Scheduling vs deliverability

Even on a perfect schedule, Flo may slow large sends (new-sender warm-up, Hot/Cold tiers, reputation caps). A Scheduled time is when Flo starts the send — not when every fan has received mail.

Before stacking many scheduled launches, check Sender Reputation on Subscribers: Broadcast deliverability.
