AI Email Assist
Flo’s AI writing assistant can help you draft broadcast subject lines and, on higher plans, full email body ideas. Generations use a shared monthly allowance across Flo (products, courses, bio, broadcasts, and more).
Creator plan requiredCreator and above can send broadcasts. AI subject-line generation is included on Creator+ plans. AI body drafts are a Pro / Studio entitlement — the feature is planned but not in the broadcast editor yet.
This page explains what your plan includes, what works today, and how to write strong campaigns manually until in-editor AI ships.

What’s available today
| Feature | In the broadcast editor today? |
|---|---|
| Manual subject + block editor | Yes — full compose, preview, send, and schedule |
| AI subject line (sparkle button) | Not yet — backend and plan limits are ready; UI is still coming |
| AI full body draft from a brief | Not yet — included on Pro / Studio plans for when it launches |
Honest status
If you open Dashboard → Broadcasts → New broadcast, you will not see a Write with AI sparkle on the subject or body. That is expected right now. Use the manual editor — Compose a broadcast.
Flo does offer AI on other screens (for example product descriptions and profile bio). Those use the same monthly AI pool shown on Settings → Billing & plans.
What Flo is building for broadcasts
When AI lands in the composer, it will follow the same pattern as elsewhere in Flo:
| Step | What you’ll do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Click the sparkle (Write with AI) near the field |
| 2 | Flo streams a suggestion into the subject or body — you can edit before sending |
| 3 | Each successful generation uses one credit from your monthly AI generations count |
Subject lines (Creator and above)
Flo’s subject assistant is tuned for newsletters:
| Behavior | Detail |
|---|---|
| Input | You describe the broadcast topic (what the email is about) |
| Output | A single subject line, aimed under 60 characters |
| Style | Specific and curiosity-driven — no fake Re: / Fwd: or clickbait |
| Your voice | Flo may use context from your profile, niche, and recent products or courses to stay on-brand |
Generated subjects still go through the same pre-send checks as manual ones — Compose a broadcast.
Body drafts (Pro / Studio — coming)
On Pro and Studio, your plan includes AI email body generation. When it ships, you’ll be able to start from a short brief and get draft copy for your block editor — then edit, add images, and send like any other campaign.
Creator can use AI for subject lines only (once the UI is live), not full body drafts.
Plan limits (AI generations)
Every AI button in Flo draws from one shared monthly counter — not a separate “broadcast only” bucket.
| Plan | AI generations / month | Broadcast-related AI types |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 | None for email (product descriptions only) — and Free cannot send broadcasts |
| Creator | 25 | Subject lines (when UI ships) — not full body drafts |
| Pro | 100 | Subject lines + body drafts (body when UI ships) |
| Studio | 300 | Same as Pro (shared across your studio profiles) |
Where to see usage
Settings → Billing & plans → Usage → AI generations (for example 12 / 25).
The meter resets on the calendar month (UTC). A subject suggestion and a product description both count as one generation each.
Full broadcast send caps (monthly Sent count, list size, speed): Broadcast limits.
Writing broadcasts without in-editor AI
Until sparkle buttons appear in compose, use the normal editor workflow:
Open compose
Dashboard → Broadcasts → New broadcast (or edit a Draft / Scheduled row).
Pick your audience
All subscribers or Members only — Broadcast audience.
Write the subject yourself
Keep it clear and honest. Flo warns about ALL CAPS, spammy words, and fake Re: prefixes before Send now.
Build the body with blocks
Text, Button, Image, Divider, Spacer — default sample copy includes
{first_name}for personalization.Preview and send
Check Desktop / Mobile preview, then Send now or Schedule — Scheduling broadcasts.
Subject tips (manual)
| Do | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Say what’s inside (March member Q&A recap) | Vague teases (You won’t believe this) |
| Stay under about 60 characters for mobile inboxes | Long strings that get cut off |
| Match what’s in the email | Bait-and-switch subjects (more spam reports) |
Body tips (manual)
| Do | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Lead with value in the first lines | Image-only emails with almost no text |
| One clear call-to-action | Too many links with little copy |
Use {first_name} where it fits | Pasting your own unsubscribe link (Flo adds the footer) |
Deliverability habits: Broadcast deliverability.
Using AI elsewhere (same monthly pool)
You can use AI today on other Flo screens to save time and stay consistent — each use counts toward AI generations:
| Surface | Typical use | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Product description | Short copy for offers you promote in email | Free+ (type allowed on Free) |
| Course description | Summarize a launch you announce | Creator+ |
| Profile bio | Sharpen how you describe yourself | Creator+ |
| Page headline (builder) | Tagline energy for your Flo page | Creator+ |
| Membership tier copy | Describe what members get | Creator+ |
Paste or adapt that copy into a broadcast manually if it helps — there is no one-click “import from product AI” yet.
When in-editor AI arrives — what to expect
If you’re on Creator
- Subject line sparkle near the subject field.
- No full-body AI draft — upgrade to Pro for that entitlement.
- 25 generations per month total across Flo — plan subject lines so you do not burn credits on other screens right before a launch.
If you’re on Pro or Studio
- Subject and body assist (body when released).
- 100 (Pro) or 300 (Studio) generations per month shared across tools.
Errors you may see later
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AI writing is a Creator plan feature | Free — upgrade to use broadcast AI |
| This AI generation type is not available on the creator plan | Body draft on Creator — needs Pro |
| Too many generations | Short-term rate limit — wait a few minutes |
| Usage at monthly max | Wait for next month or upgrade for a higher cap |
Flo does not send a broadcast automatically when you generate copy — you always review, save, and click Send or Schedule yourself.
AI and broadcast rules
AI suggestions do not bypass Flo’s sending rules:
| Rule | Still applies |
|---|---|
| Double opt-in audience | Only subscribed fans for All subscribers |
| Business address | Required in Settings → Email sending |
| Email Sending Agreement | First Send now |
| Monthly send cap | Creator: 5 Sent / month |
| Sender reputation | Throttling or suspension — Sender reputation |
Always read the Issues that block sending panel before you send — Compose a broadcast.
Troubleshooting
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| I don’t see AI in the broadcast editor | Not shipped yet — write manually in Compose |
| Billing says I have AI but compose has no button | Entitlement is on your plan; broadcast UI is still in progress |
| Will AI use my whole list without asking? | No — AI only fills fields you trigger; sending stays manual |
| Do scheduled campaigns use AI credits? | Only when you generate text — not when the scheduled time fires |
| Ran out of AI generations | Check Settings → Billing & plans; wait for monthly reset or upgrade |
| Free and broadcasts | Upgrade to Creator to send campaigns; AI email types need Creator+ |
