Flo Payments Setup

Flo Payments is your earnings account: it powers paid checkouts on your Flo page and sends payouts to your bank. Everything lives under Settings → Flo Payments (/settings/payments). The guided wizard is at /settings/payments/setup.

This page is the settings reference for onboarding and post-setup controls. For a shorter first-time walkthrough, see Connect payments. For fees, settlement, and payout timing, see Flo Payments.

Flo plan ≠ Flo Payments

Your Flo subscription (Free, Creator, Pro, Studio) controls builder limits and platform sale fees. Flo Payments is separate — set it up once to receive money from fans, even on Free.

Bank account is required

Legal identity alone does not enable payouts. You must connect a valid bank account in step 3 and finish verification.

The settings hub (/settings/payments)

The page header is Flo Payments with the description Accept payments on your page and receive payouts to your bank (or How money moves from your customers to your bank account after you have started).

Empty state (not started)

If your earnings account has never been started (UNSTARTED), you see one card:

Get paid with FloSet up your earnings account once, then sell courses, products, and bookings from one place.

Bullets:

  • Accept cards and other payment methods on your Flo page
  • Get paid out to your bank on your schedule
  • Manage refunds and tax settings in one place

Primary button: Set up Flo earnings account → opens the setup wizard.

Footer line: Takes a few minutes. You'll verify your identity and add a bank account.

Full panel (after step 1 begins)

Once you complete step 1 (identity), the hub shows four cards:

  1. Earnings account — status and resume actions
  2. Payout settings — bank, schedule, minimum
  3. Currency & tax — checkout currency and auto-tax
  4. Refunds & disputes — refund window policy

You can open these while onboarding is still in progress, but paid checkouts only work when status is Active.


Tax forms banner

When Flo Payments is Active (or verified) but the processor still needs information (for example tax forms), a yellow banner may appear at the top:

  • Complete verification/settings/payments/setup
  • Dismiss (X) — hides the banner in this browser (stored locally)

Resolve outstanding requirements promptly so payouts are not interrupted.

Flo stores machine state server-side. Continue setup opens the wizard at:

If your account is already Active, visiting /settings/payments/setup redirects back to Settings → Flo Payments.


Setup wizard (/settings/payments/setup)

Header: Your earnings accountSet up Flo Payments in a few minutes. Your money goes straight to your bank.

Step 1 — Tell us about yourself

Collects legal identity and address. Choose Country first — it controls tax fields, bank format, settlement currency, and postal labels.

Flo shows your account email for payment verification. Click Continue — Flo saves identity (usually a few seconds; loading panel: Saving your details…).

Step 2 — How do you operate?

Pick one:

  • I'm an individual creator — default for solo creators
  • I represent a business or brand — shows Company name (required) and optional tax ID field (placeholder XX-XXXXXXX, Show / Hide)

Click Continue.

Step 3 — Where should we send your money?

Bank account — secure payout destination. Fields depend on country bank method:

Enter Name on account and bank details in Flo's secure form. Flo does not store your full account number on Flo servers.

If a bank is already linked, you may see Bank account on fileYour payout account is already linked for Flo Payments. Choose Continue with this account or Use a different account.

Click Continue after the bank step saves.

Step 4 — Verify your identity

Government ID upload for financial regulations:

  • ID — front (required) — JPG, PNG, or PDF
  • ID — back (optional)

Upload each file; wait for confirmation before Continue. Loading copy: Forwarding your uploaded ID…

Step 5 — Almost there

Fine print: By activating, you agree to the Flo Payments Terms and the payment processing agreement required by Flo's payments partner (linked in the app).

After you activate

Activation screen (on the setup URL)

  1. Flo Payments is being activated — Flo polls verification (about every 3 seconds, up to 5 minutes). This usually takes less than a minute.

    • Go to dashboard — leave while waiting
  2. You're ready to earn — when verified:

    • Flo Payments is active. Your first sale goes straight to your bank.
    • Go to my wallet
  3. Still verifying… — if polling times out:

    • Your account is set up — verification is just finishing in the background.
    • Go to wallet or Contact support (support@myflo.link)

The setup shell may also show header You're all set when returning with an already-active account.

Confirm in Settings

Earnings account should show Active. Run a small paid test checkout on your live page, then check Dashboard → Wallet.


Payout settings card

Visible after you begin setup (not on the empty-state-only view).

Schedule notes:

  • Default preference is Weekly (Flo processes weekly payouts on Fridays, UTC — see Flo Payments).
  • Daily unlocks 90 days after your earnings account was created (payment_accounts.created_at). If you select Daily too early, Flo shows how many days remain.
  • Daily on the Free Flo plan is not available — upgrade to Creator or higher.
  • If the processor set manual payouts on your account, the UI shows Manual schedule — contact support if you need to change it and disables schedule saves.

Currency & tax card

Click Save currency & tax. Success toast: Preferences saved.


Refunds & disputes card

DisputesThere is no separate dispute console in Flo yet. Use Flo Payments and your account notifications for updates.

Supported countries

Country must be selected in step 1 from this list (from SUPPORTED_COUNTRIES):

North America: United States, Canada

Europe & UK: United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

Asia-Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan

If your country is missing, you cannot complete Flo Payments in the app today. Free offers and email capture still work.

Your country sets settlement currency (USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, NZD, etc.), bank input format, and identity fields.
