Flo Payments
Flo Payments is how you get paid on Flo. Fans checkout on your page; money lands in your Flo Payments balance; you withdraw to your bank on a schedule you choose. Flo collects a platform fee on each sale (based on your Flo plan) and runs payouts to your bank on a rhythm you control in settings.
Flo Payments powers paid:
- Products (one-time, subscriptions, and payment plans on Creator+)
- Courses
- Memberships (recurring tiers)
- Bookings (paid sessions)
Free offers — $0 products, free course enrollment, free booking slots, and Capture Emails — do not need a charge. Anything above $0 needs an Active earnings account before checkout can complete.
Publish before payments is ready
You can publish your page while verification is still in progress. Fans can browse and join your email list. Paid checkouts fail until your Earnings account shows Active under Settings → Flo Payments.
Platform fee by Flo plan
The percentage depends on your Flo subscription. The flat fee is the same on every plan (in your settlement currency — $0.50 USD by default).
| Flo plan | Platform % (Flo tier fee) | Flat per sale |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5% | $0.50 |
| Creator | 3% | $0.50 |
| Pro | 2% | $0.50 |
| Studio | 1% | $0.50 |
Upgrading Flo lowers the percentage on each sale. It does not remove the per-sale flat fee or card-processing recovery (below).
What is included in each checkout fee
On every paid charge, Flo collects the following in one bundled checkout fee:
| Component | Typical amount (USD) | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Flo tier % | 5% / 3% / 2% / 1% | Your plan’s platform rate |
| Flo flat | $0.50 | Same on all tiers; varies slightly by currency |
| Card processing % | 2.9% | Recovered in checkout math (not a separate bill to you) |
| Card processing flat | ~$0.30 | Recovered in checkout math; varies by currency |
You do not get a separate bill for standard card processing on checkout — those costs are built into the buyer-facing price or deducted from your share, depending on pricing mode. The pricing preview in the dashboard (when you set a product or course price) shows the full breakdown for your currency and tier.
Fees are never zero on paid sales
Even on Studio, every paid transaction includes the flat fee and processing recovery. $0 checkouts collect no platform fee.
Net vs gross pricing
When you set a price in the dashboard, you choose how to think about money:
| Mode | You enter | What fans pay | What you keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net | The amount you want after Flo’s fees | Flo grosses up the sticker price automatically | Exactly your target (before payout timing) |
| Gross | The sticker price on checkout | That amount | Sale minus total fees (shown as an estimate in the editor) |
Both modes collect the same total fees — only the starting point differs.
Net pricing example
You want $100.00 in your pocket on the Creator plan (3% + $0.50 flat, plus processing recovery):
- Flo calculates a buyer-facing total (often about $107–$110 in USD, depending on rounding and currency).
- The fan pays that total at checkout.
- After fees, $100.00 is credited to your Flo Payments balance (still subject to pending vs available timing below).
Use net when you care about guaranteed take-home per sale.
Gross pricing example
You set a $100.00 sticker price on Creator:
| Line | Amount (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Buyer pays | $100.00 |
| Flo tier fee (3%) | $3.00 |
| Flo flat | $0.50 |
| Processing recovery (~2.9% + flat) | ~$3.20 |
| You receive (approx.) | ~$93.30 |
Use gross when you want a round number on the checkout button and are fine receiving whatever remains after fees. The product editor shows You'll receive approx… before you save.
Minimum paid price
Paid prices must meet Flo’s minimum charge per currency (about $0.50 USD). Use $0 for free offers.
Subscriptions and payment plans
Creator plan requiredCreator+ can sell subscription and payment plan pricing on products (and membership billing is always recurring). Flo applies your tier percentage on each renewal; flat and processing components are collected on subscription invoices the same way as one-time checkouts so economics stay consistent with net/gross product pricing.
Set up Flo Payments
Onboarding is under Settings → Flo Payments in the dashboard (/settings/payments). Identity and bank details are collected in Flo’s secure setup flow — you do not need a separate payments account outside Flo.
Open Settings → Flo Payments
From the dashboard, go to Settings → Flo Payments. If you have not started, you see Get paid with Flo and Set up your earnings account.
Complete the 5-step setup flow
The guided flow covers identity (legal name, date of birth, address, phone), business type (Individual or Company), bank account, any documents verification requires, and a final review. Required fields depend on your country.
Submit and wait for verification
After submit, status may show Pending while Flo Payments verifies your account. You may receive an email if more information is needed. Resolve Action required by returning to setup and finishing every requested field or upload.
Confirm Active
When ready, the Earnings account card shows Active. That is your signal that paid checkouts, courses, memberships, and paid bookings can complete.
Check Wallet
After your first sale, open Dashboard → Wallet for pending and available balances, payout history, and per-sale detail.
Bank account is required
Identity alone is not enough. Payouts stay disabled until a valid bank account is connected and verification completes.
Earnings account statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Set up your earnings account | Not started — click to begin the 5-step flow |
| Continue setup | In progress — resume at the step shown |
| Pending | Submitted — verification in progress |
| Action required | More information or documents needed |
| Active | Ready to accept paid checkouts and receive payouts |
| Restricted | Charges or payouts limited — open setup to resolve |
Balances: pending vs available
Sales appear in Dashboard → Wallet after checkout:
| Balance | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Revenue still in settlement — not yet available to pay out |
| Available | Funds you can withdraw, subject to minimum balance and payout fees |
Settlement delay (card sales)
How long card revenue stays pending before it becomes available:
| Account history | Delay |
|---|---|
| New earnings account | 7 days |
| 60+ days clean history (no payout failures or open disputes in the maturity window) | 2 days |
“Clean” is evaluated from your earnings account creation date, not your Flo signup date. Flo upgrades eligible accounts automatically.
Creator plan requiredPaid bookings can hold funds longer: revenue may stay on hold until the session ends plus a 24-hour buffer before it counts toward available balance. See Payout schedule.
Payouts to your bank
Flo initiates payouts to your connected bank on the schedule you choose — transfers are triggered by Flo’s systems, not automatic daily dumps without your preference.
Default schedule
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Default | Weekly — Flo processes weekly preferences on Fridays (UTC) |
| Options | Daily, weekly, or monthly (where shown in Settings → Flo Payments / Wallet → Payouts) |
| Daily unlock | 90 days after your earnings account is created |
| Instant | Also gated at 90 days, plus an eligible debit card (where available in your region) |
Daily payout preference is not available on the Free Flo plan — upgrade to Creator or higher.
Minimum payout
Flo only sends a payout when your available balance meets the platform minimum for your currency. Examples:
| Currency | Minimum available balance |
|---|---|
| USD | $10.00 |
| GBP | £8.00 |
| EUR | €9.00 |
| CAD | $10.00 |
Other supported currencies use equivalent floors. The exact amount for your display currency is shown read-only in payout settings — you cannot lower it.
Payout fees (separate from sale fees)
Each transfer to your bank deducts a payout fee from your available balance (this is not the same as the per-sale checkout fee):
| Payout type | Fee (USD example) |
|---|---|
| Standard (weekly / daily / monthly) | 0.25% of payout amount (rounded up) + $0.50 flat |
| Instant (where available) | 1% + 0.25% + $0.50 flat |
Minimum payout fee when amount > 0: $0.01. Other currencies use equivalent flat amounts. Full tables: Wallet fees.
Supported countries
Flo Payments onboarding is available for creators in:
North America: United States, Canada
Europe & UK: United Kingdom, Ireland, and supported EU/EEA countries (including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Nordics, and others)
Asia-Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan
Other: Switzerland
Country selection in setup drives identity fields (for example SSN last 4 in the US), bank format (ACH, IBAN, sort code, etc.), and your default settlement currency. If verification requests extra steps for your region, complete them in the setup flow or from the link in the email Flo sends you.
Refunds, disputes, and plan changes
| Topic | Detail |
|---|---|
| Refunds | Issue refunds from Wallet or the sale record where exposed in Flo. Refunded sales reverse proportional platform fees. |
| Disputes / chargebacks | Flo may debit a $15 dispute fee per chargeback (per Flo’s payout policy). Keep delivery proof for digital goods and booking records for services. |
| Downgrade Flo plan | If your Flo subscription lapses to Free, new sales use the 5% + $0.50 tier rate until you upgrade again. |
