Import & Export
Your subscriber list lives in Dashboard → Subscribers. Export is available today as a CSV download you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or another email tool. Use it for backups, reporting, or moving data out of Flo.
Import in the dashboard
CSV import (upload a file to add many contacts at once) is not in the Subscribers dashboard yet. To grow your list today, use the Newsletter block on your live page — Email capture. The Import section below explains consent rules and what to do when you are migrating from another platform.
Export your list
Where to export
Open Dashboard → Subscribers. In the page header, click Export CSV (download icon).
You can also export a subset:
- Check the boxes on the left of the rows you want.
- In the bulk bar, click Export.
What gets exported
| Button | What is included |
|---|---|
| Export CSV (header) | Every row that matches your current search and status filter |
| Export (bulk bar) | Only the selected rows (even if they are on different pages or filters) |
Flo downloads a file named like subscribers-2026-05-19.csv (today’s date).
CSV columns
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| Subscriber email address | |
| First Name | First name if you collected it; blank otherwise |
| Status | subscribed, pending, or unsubscribed |
| Subscribed At | Date they confirmed (YYYY-MM-DD), or blank if still pending |
| Tags | Tags on the row, separated by ; if there are several (often empty) |
The export does not include the Source column you see in the table (for example your Newsletter headline). If you need source labels, note them before exporting or keep a separate backup.
Filters affect Export CSV
If you search for gmail.com or filter to Subscribed, Export CSV only downloads matching rows. Set the filter to All and clear search before a full backup.
Large lists
The Subscribers page loads up to 500 contacts at a time for speed. If your list is bigger than that, the table and Export CSV only cover those loaded rows until expanded loading ships. For a complete backup of a very large list, contact Flo support.
Common export workflows
| Goal | Steps |
|---|---|
| Full backup | Filter All, clear search → Export CSV → store the file safely |
| Only confirmed fans | Filter Subscribed → Export CSV |
| Pending confirmations | Filter Pending → Export CSV → follow up outside Flo if needed |
| Move to another tool | Export Subscribed → import into the other platform using their instructions |
| Share with a teammate | Export CSV — treat the file as personal data; share securely |
| Before bulk delete | Export first → then select rows → Delete in the bulk bar |
Export runs in your browser — Flo does not email you the file. The download starts immediately after you click.
Export vs delete vs unsubscribe
| Action | Keeps row in Flo? | In CSV export? |
|---|---|---|
| Export | Yes | Snapshot only |
| Unsubscribe (row menu) | Yes, status changes | Yes, shows unsubscribed |
| Delete (bulk bar) | No — removed | Only if you exported first |
Deleting does not remove past broadcast send history tied to that address.
Import contacts
What Flo supports today
| Method | Available? | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletter block on your live page | Yes | Pending → fan confirms → subscribed (double opt-in) |
| CSV upload in Subscribers | No (not in the app yet) | — |
The best way to add real subscribers is to publish your page and drive signups through Newsletter — Email capture.
Migrating from another platform
If you are leaving Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Beehiiv, or similar:
Export from your old tool
Download your subscriber export from the old platform for your records.
Export from Flo after you have signups
Once fans join through your Flo page, use Export CSV here for a Flo-side backup.
Rebuild the list on Flo with consent
Share
myflo.link/yournameand ask fans to subscribe again on your Newsletter block. That gives you a fresh double opt-in list Flo trusts for broadcasts.Send broadcasts only to subscribed fans
On Creator+, email only subscribed contacts — Broadcasts overview.
Flo may add CSV import later. Until then, avoid workarounds that paste purchased emails into other systems and mail them as if they opted in on Flo.
Consent and list quality
Only people who opted in
Only email people who agreed to hear from you. Do not mail purchased, scraped, or borrowed lists. That violates good practice and Flo’s expectations for creators. High spam complaints or hard bounces can throttle or suspend your sending — Sender reputation.
When CSV import becomes available, expect rules along these lines:
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Permission required | You must have provable opt-in for each address |
| Plan limits still apply | 250 / 2,500 / unlimited subscribed caps by plan |
| Deliverability | Bad imports hurt everyone on the platform — Flo protects the shared sending system |
Prefer organic Newsletter signups whenever you can. They automatically follow Flo’s double opt-in flow.
“Manual” source in the table
In Subscribers, the Source column sometimes shows Manual when a row was not tied to a Newsletter block (for example legacy data or internal operations). There is no Import subscribers button in the dashboard for creators today.
Tags in exports
The Tags column appears in CSV exports. Tags can be used behind the scenes for broadcast audiences (for example a future “tag” filter). You cannot add or edit tags from the Subscribers table UI today — most rows export with an empty Tags field.
Privacy and security
| Topic | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Personal data | Exported files contain emails and names — store them securely |
| Sharing | Do not post CSVs in public drives or chat channels |
| Retention | Delete old export files when you no longer need them |
| GDPR / privacy requests | Use export to find a contact; use Delete or Unsubscribe per your policy |
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| Download did not start | Allow downloads in your browser; pop-up blocker may block the file |
| Export has fewer rows than expected | Clear search; set filter to All; remember the 500 load limit |
| Subscribed At is blank | Row is still pending — fan has not confirmed yet |
| Tags always empty | Normal — tags are not edited in the UI today |
| Need Source in CSV | Not in export — copy from the table or track separately |
| Want to import a CSV | Not available in dashboard yet — use Newsletter signups |
| Imported elsewhere, complaints spiked | Send only to subscribed fans who opted in on Flo |
| Accidentally deleted rows | Restore from your last CSV backup if you exported first |
Quick reference
| Task | Action |
|---|---|
| Backup full list | All filter → Export CSV |
| Export confirmed only | Subscribed filter → Export CSV |
| Export some rows | Select checkboxes → bulk Export |
| Grow list | Newsletter block + Publish |
| Import CSV | Not in app yet — re-invite via your Flo page |
