Create a Variant

Creator plan required

Start your first test

1. Open the builder

   Dashboard → Builder.

2. Click A/B Test

   In the top bar, click A/B Test. On Free, you see an upgrade prompt instead.

3. Wait for creation

   The button shows Creating… while Flo clones your live page into variants A and B (default test name: Page split test).

4. Open Split test settings

   The right panel opens to Traffic / Split test. You now see two phone frames on the canvas.

The create modal has Quick experiment and Full redesign tabs. Quick mode changes one dimension at a time; Full mode lets you edit the whole variant. See Quick vs Full.

Switch between variants

Click a variant tab or frame to edit that version. Changes save to that variant only — your original live page stays unchanged until you promote a winner.

Add a third or fourth variant (Pro)

Pro plan required

On Pro or Studio (up to 4 variants), use Add variant in the split test UI while the test is still a Draft. New variants copy settings from an existing variant and receive an even share of traffic when splits rebalance.

On Creator, you are capped at 2 variants — upgrade to add more.

Rename variants

Edit the variant label in the overview panel (for example Short headline instead of A). Labels appear in results and when declaring a winner.
